GOLDEN SNOWFLAKE CAS CARD...

Just back from a FABULOUS weekend with my family!  We went to Carter Mountain Orchard for apple picking and everything apple plus Bold Rock tasting.  The apple cider donuts and cookies were divine!  Definitely a cheat day for me - LOL!  That evening we went to a pretty little pedestrian mall with a beautiful cobble stone walkway lined with shops and restaurants in downtown Charlottesville.  They just happened to be having a Trick or Treat event there for children and the families that came in group costumes were AMAZING!  So much fun.  I miss those days with my girls!

If you ever are in the area, it is definitely worth the visit!  Just look at this view behind my girls and I.  Those are vineyards right behind us and then the orchard beyond that.

It was strange to transition from my fall fun-filled weekend to Christmas cards, but I just had to use my favorite Foil Snowflakes again.  They sure are getting a lot of play here in my studio!  For this card, I let this golden baby and the gorgeous Year of Cheer Specialty Paper take center stage.  Each layer is popped up with Dimensionals and the sentiment is embossed.  All the measurements are below in the card recipe if you'd like to try it out!

CAS MONDAY: Merry & Bright Card...

It's been a frustrating time in the Stampin' Studio this past week!  The new countertops arrived and were completely wrong.  They did the wrong edge on them and the edges didn't even match each other!  Then the custom-order power roller shade and valance (big splurge!) arrived and it was also wrong!  Completely mismatched.  Now we have to wait for them both to be done over, which is really delaying the completion of my studio and resumption of my classes!  *sniff*  Well, enough of my pity party!  Today I am going to pick up the granite piece for my Parisian chest that will serve as the Big Shot/Embossing Center.  I am holding out hope that it will be perfect, since this is the only really unique piece of furniture in the studio and finished by me!

Since it's Monday, I have another CAS card to share with you.  I made a simplified version of this card in August for a card swap with my downline group.  For today's version, I did add a second Foil Snowflake and I accordion folded each "petal" of the snowflake to give it some dimension.  Do not use a bone folder to fold the snowflake as it is easy to tear it with the intricate cut-outs.  Just use your fingers carefully.  Each layer of the snowflakes and the center medallion piece are raised on Stampin' Dimensionals to give it some POP!  Enjoy!
