CREATIVE CREW, Nautical Scrapbooking Page...

Yesterday I shared my Vintage Scrapbooking entry for the May Creative Crew's Challenges.  After completing it, I realized that the Nautical theme featured in the Summer Mini Catalog was absolutely perfect for a page with my beloved grandfather.  He enlisted in the Navy during World War II leaving behind his family with three young children, but was disappointed to never be stationed on a ship - he was doing so well they just kept sending him to more schools.  He was fascinated with all types of ships and planes and I remember how he was always working on his model ships (there is a picture of one at the end of this post) carving tiny little people for them, etc.  After the war, he became a policeman until he retired after a heart attack.  He had a hard life and endured many illnesses, but was the sweetest man you would ever meet and I miss him every day!

The picture I used was an old sepia toned photo.  Since I used a sepia photo yesterday (created from a regular color photo), I decided to use a blue color tone with this one which basically balanced it into a black & white photo with a hint of blue.  I just love the options with My Digital Studio that allow me to instantly add photo effects like color, negative effect, cropping into shapes, matting, etc!  You would not believe how quickly you can produce pages with this program!  I hope you enjoy my ode to my Grandpa Clare!
