The front panel is embossed using a thin chipboard frame. Patty Bennett posted a nice tutorial for this technique last year here, so I won't reinvent the wheel. You can also purchase an extra folder (they're only $7.95) and cut an oval into your folder - it will have the same effect.
I added dots of Multi glue and glittered them (each color separately). If you want to save yourself some time, just glitter them all one color. Gold would be pretty! You could just leave the embossing unaccented, but I decided to color the dots. It gives it a more quilted/country appearance. I used Cherry Cobbler (the Bravo Burgundy was too dark and didn't match the paper for some reason) on the berries and Always Artichoke for the other dots. And that's it - emboss, one stamp and glitter! Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteMarie, do you have a post on how to create the embossing without the oval being embossed? I have tried to get this effect but just can't seem to keep the embossing out of the central oval!!
ReplyDeleteGreat card. Hadn't thought to put that tree in an oval yet, and I love the glittered glue dots!!
