UPDATE: Apparently some of you were seeing a dark grey background. My template was not grey and I had never seen this on any computer with my site (and I have seen it on a LOT of computers!). I looked around and changed something on the format of the "underneath" page that is defaulted from Blogger. Apparently it was grey. I had never changed this because it isn't supposed to show when you install your own background over it, but for some reason I suspect this was the problem for a couple of you. Hopefully this solved the problem! Let me know if any of you are still having this problem!

FEEDBACK NEEDED...
Dear Blog Readers,
I am planning an overhaul of my blog and would dearly love to get your opinions! I have been making some little changes here and there so far. I seldom get comments on my cards/projects on my blog now, which I miss. I know many of you receive my blog updates via email or Google Reader, etc. I don't know if this is a factor or if the website is difficult for you to read or navigate, etc. If you could take a look at my blog and answer some questions for me, it would be GREATLY appreciated. You could just make a comment here or email me directly from the link in the right column of my blog. Please be blunt - I would really like your honest opinions. Thanks in advance!

1. PROJECTS: Are the projects I share too easy, too complicated or a good mix? Is there anything you would particularly like to see?
2. TEXT: Can you read the text of my blog well? I usually use a normal size font, but have been using a large font on occasion lately as I am not sure how it is appearing for most of you. This is the normal text.
3. FORMAT: Do you like the 3 column blog I am currently using or would you prefer a 2 column blog layout? A 2 column blog would mean more scrolling down to see all the "widgets" like archives, videos, catalogs, categories, etc. But it would mean more width (room) for the main post.
4. COLORS: What do you think of the colors? I am definitely changing the banner on top, but are you okay with a mainly black and white design? It mirrors my Stampin' Studio, so I am partial to it.
5. MISSING: What would you like to see added?
6. CHANGES NEEDED: What other things would you like to see changed?

Hi Marie, I read your blog, but not from the actual blog itself. I get your posts emailed to me and I read it from my email, so sorry I'm not much help. I don't think your font size or anything else comes through differently on email??? But I'm not sure. I do enjoy seeing your projects, sorry I don't always have time to comment!
ReplyDeleteI have only one comment.....about the blog thing...
ReplyDeletewhen I log on ... I have to go to Home or to the Archives to get the current date of your blog posting.....it isn't on auto pilot. I don't know if you can change that or not.
Otherwise I just love your blog :0) and thanks for sharing.
I think the projects that you post are a good mix. The size of the text is good. It is a good size. The format is good. The 3 columns are good. The colors you use a OK. The only problem I have is when I log on, it takes a while for the page to be a normal color. It starts out a relly dark grey then turns white.
ReplyDeleteHi Marie! I think your blog is a great mix of projects and there is nothing I would change. Of course my blog uses the same background so I may be a bit biased. :) I read your blog through Google reader and have many times marked your posts as "keep unread" so I can come back to them for inspiration again. But I know that reading through Google Reader sometimes makes it easy for me to not ever click through to actually leave a comment. I will try to get better about that! I really prefer the way you have your posts set to full text on reader. I know that some bloggers only give you a snippet so that you HAVE to click through to get to read the full post. I am sure they do that to generate more comments but it backfires with me because I don't like the feeling of being "forced" to come to their blog. Silly? Totally! I have no idea why I get stubborn like that.
ReplyDeleteWow, that comment got really long! Thank you so much for your inspiration and great work!
Marie, I check out your blog regularly for inspiration. The only problem I have is with the background dark grey color on the pages. It makes it difficult to read. I don't know if that's a blog problem or my PC that does that but I noticed someone else commented about that also. Otherwise I think your blog is just fine the way it is.
ReplyDeleteMarie, I check your blog through Google reader. I am into cardmaking so don't comment every day cause some other projects don't interest me. I like the three colums but I find there's too much there. I don't often spend time checking out the sides cause I find I spend too much time on the net and then not enough time "playing". Colours and font size are fine by me. I will try to comment on cards more frequently:) Thanks for sharing and hope this helps! Sandy
ReplyDeleteMarie, I just found your blog this week. I love the projects you have and I have saved your blog in my favorites. I will check regularly and try to leave comments from time to time. I don't have any complaints about your set up. Glad I found your blog. Steph
ReplyDeleteHi Marie, I enjoy your projects. I get your blog on Google Reader so I don't usually see the "real" blog. The font is fine on the reader.
ReplyDeleteI agree with one of your other readers about some bloggers "forcing" readers to go to the blog instead of using the reader. Having 3 columns seems a bit busy to me - JMHO. Thanks for sharing your talent!
I really like your blog projects. I am a fellow demo & I also read it on Google Reader. It takes a WHOLE LOT for me to click over and load the blog to add comments, so I don't do it often on anyone's blog...more of a time issue, I guess. If Google Reader would let you quickly add comments there, it would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteMarie - I love your blog...glad to see the background is now white...it was harder when it was black(dark grey)...easier to read. I live the 3 columns as well...your projects are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog through Stampin Connection. I like the layout and don't have any problems reading the posts. I haven't browsed much through your past posts, but I will definitely begin following you on blogspot so I can see your new posts.
ReplyDeleteI follow you in Google Reader (as I do all of the blogs), and I have to do an extra click to make a comment. When I'm in a hurry or just feeling a little lazy, I don't click through and leave comments. I know how much I appreciate comments on my own blog, though, so I'll keep that in mind for the future! :) Thanks for all the beautiful cards and projects you post. I really enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog, Marie, and I assure you that I will be shamelessly copying many of your adorable projects! They are simply gorgeous, and your neat, professional style is appreciated. I love your black and white blog, too many colors are so distracting and they fight with the cards and products. Thanks for giving so much to so many!
