Due to popular request, here are the directions for the Cheers to You Beach Box I posted on July 29.
SUPPLIES:
- Stamps – Cheers to You
- Card stock – Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Carmel, Green Galore, Only Orange, Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Summer Sun, and Whisper White
- Ink – Basic Black, Really Rust Classic Stampin’ Pads, Green Galore, Rose Red, Summer Sun Stampin’ Write marker
- Accessories – Sticky Strip
- Punches – Boho Blossoms, ½“ Circle punches
- Tools – Big Shot, Box #2 Bigz XL die, Scallop Circle Bigz die, Top Note Bigz die, Cutter, Stamping sponge
1. Cut Box #2 from Bashful Blue card stock. Assemble box by scoring all folds well. Cut off the tops of the box at the score lines.
2. Cut 2 Top Notes from Bashful Blue card stock and one from Creamy Carmel card stock. Attach Bashful Blue Top Notes to front and back of box. Create “sand” by tearing Creamy Caramel Top Note. I used 2 layers of “sand” to add dimension and sponged the edges with Really Rust. You will want to place a 1/4" x 4" strip of Chocolate Chip card stock between the first and second layers of sand to secure umbrella.
3. For the umbrella:
- Cut a scallop circle from Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Only Orange, and Green Galore card stock.
- Cut the Summer Sun Piece to 10 scallops to the middle of the straight side. (I could get 3 umbrellas out of a circle, but for me it's easier to just do it from half a circle.)
- Cut each of the remaining circles in half between scallops. On each half, I mark with a pencil the middle of the flat side right at the edge.
- Cut a piece from each of the other colors that is 2 scallops wide to the middle of the straight side being careful not to cut the pencil mark off.
- Repeat again all the way around. You can get a lot of umbrellas out of each color!
- Adhere one Only Orange, Real Red, Brilliant Blue and Green Galore piece to the Summer Sun Base, around leaving the middle with just the base circle showing. Attach umbrella to umbrella stem you have previously stuck in your sand.
- I've followed these same principles with the Scallop Circle Punch for small umbrellas on bookmarks, etc.
